WELCOME TO HAIR X PIZER

“The only way to support a revolution is to make your own.”

Sophia Amoruso, #GIRLBOSS

As I first sat behind my computer creating, designing, and organizing this website, I became quite frustrated. I realized that I wanted to give my clients more than just a place to look up prices and booking info. I wanted to provide a space for them to search out questions they might have, whether it be about their appointment or product recommendations. I wanted them to have a place to come to when they forgot their at-home hair care regime. Perhaps supply a list of all the Do’s and Don’ts for color and blonding care. Provide some advice on how and where to park when coming to the salon for the first time. Give them suggestions on where to go out in the city after their appointment to show off their new ‘do (who doesn’t want to toss those beachy waves at some politico intern or GU grad student right?!). And maybe I want to share some tutorials for hairstyles quick enough for a college student, nurse, or teacher. So they can look their best in a flash, without pulling at knots forever!

I just became a liscense cosmetologist in December, and I also wanted a space to share my experience with other new stylists. When I was deciding what to do after I passed my Boards, I was unbelievably lost. I was so consumed with my options that I ran away to Europe for a hot second to figure out my life story. I wish I knew what I know now, and hoped to somehow pass that advice on to the next generation of stylists. I wanted to explain how to juggle a full appointment book, a corporate job, school, relationships, and friendships. Share tips of the trade; my trials and errors in owning my own business (#GIRLBOSS). And share my own anxiety and copping mechanisms for this wild world called the beauty industry.

And so, after consulting with some current clients, friends, and other stylists… this blog was born. A place for me to share my journey with you! Highs, lows, and everything in between!

Comment below if you have any suggestions for topics. (Don’t worry clients… how/where to park in Georgetown will be the first one!)

Much Love,
Madison
